ABOUT ME
Hello Young Surveyors of Orange County!
I’m Emily Kubisty, your Orange County Regional Director for the California Young Surveyors Network. I’m thrilled to be part of the YSN—surveying quickly became one of my biggest passions. Like many, my first college path was disrupted by Covid-19, and I felt unsure of my direction. With encouragement from my dad (Mike Kubisty, PLS 8036) and my brother (Julian Kubisty, LSIT), I enrolled in Survey 118 at Santiago Canyon College to see if surveying might be a fit. It absolutely was. Professors like Bryan Mundia and Mark Counts inspired and supported me from the start.
I’m now three years into my career, starting at Michael Baker as a Mapping Technician. I recently moved into the role of
GIT Associate. I am currently studying for my FS exam.
Please feel free to reach out anytime! I’m here to support you however I can.
I’m Rena Li, your Orange County Assistant Director for the California YSN. I'm passionate about surveying and committed to supporting students and young professionals. I began my journey at Cal Poly Pomona, where I enrolled in the ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program with a Geospatial Engineering option, providing me with a strong foundation in both civil engineering and surveying. Like many, I had my college years impacted by COVID-19, and I did not know about the surveying profession until later, through peers and professors Allan Ng and Omar Mora.
I’m two years into my surveying, working at DRC Engineering, Inc., as a Mapping Analyst and studying for my FS exam.
